May 25th

These words are so true, but
how about a totally lazy day too?
Wouldn't that "count"?
It would certainly count as
a mental health day.
Ha!
Leave the dusting, laundry
and
the beds unmade.
Procrastinate.
Read a book, make a cake or cookies,
or watch some T.V,
Snooze on the sofa.
Take a leisurely walk.
I think I'm in favor of the Lazy Day idea.
I choose the book option, but after I've
done a few chores.
😁

The veggie garden is doing great.
👍
We are getting very nice harvests
most days.

This is: beets, Japanese eggplant,
cucumbers, Roma tomatoes and garlic cloves.

More Roma tomatoes.

Beefsteak tomato.

Green Tomatoes, Japanese eggplant,
Eggplant, Sweet Peppers and a cucumber.
We sometimes pick the tomatoes green
because the hens will help themselves
when they start to change color and ripen.
The birds and squirrels too!

I canned some garlic cloves in olive oil...

and,
for lunch the other day,
I sauteed a Japanese eggplant
with a handful of Brussels sprouts
in butter, with a garlic clove.
Very tasty!

Purple Cabbage

Cherry Tomatoes
(The very bottom tomato has a peck mark on it!)

Cucumbers

Green Beans

Serrano Peppers

Corn

Brussels Sprouts

More Cherry  Tomatoes

Black Tomatoes
The CEO has such a green thunb!

This is
Kalanchoe, or more correctly,
Mother of Thousands.
Boy, is this plant named correctly!
All of those little buds attached
to the "mother" leaf, will become a
Kalanchoe plant.
A good rule of thumb is, never
plant them in the garden.
They'll take over!
Always plant them in containers
and prune them periodically.

Scarlet Snapdragons

Peach Gladiola

Pretty little wildflower

Minew in the oregano.

The herb garden.
There's:
Chicory, Celery, Oregano, Thyme,
Citronella, Lemon Grass, Basil, Thai Basil,
Mint, Parsley, and Catnip.

Rescued Mums from a dumpster.
Beautiful!

Marigolds

Sweet Peas

Blueberries, still blooming.

Minew,
always talking to us.

Chicken girls, chatting.

The weirdest family ever.
3 peas in a pod,
and a cat who thinks she's a hen!

Lucy and Ethel in the compost heap.
Thanks for turning it girls!

Lucy
She's a pretty girl,
but
she knows it.

Ethel,
She's our shy girl.
Her feathers are so beautiful!
She still lays an egg every other day or so.

The Stargazer Lillies are starting to grow tall.
No buds or flowers yet.

Pink and white begonias and
orange mums.
(the mums are more of the rescued ones)

The Gardenia bush is still producing buds.

Well, another school year
is over and the summer begins.
I'm praying for a hurricane free
year again..

And here's my
fancy photo
of a very photogenic
cat!
Minew.
