October 31st

Here's hoping for a safe and fun
holiday for everyone.

****************

Our growing season is winding down, but
the bell peppers are still going strong.

 I've dehydrated most of these.
Some, I cut up and freeze to use in cooking.
The red, yellow and dark purple ones
became my homemade paprika.
The rest will be combined with the other
herbs and tomatoes for my herbal blend.
I dehydrated basil flowers to use in
basil salt and basil vinegar.
I had some eggplants that I dehydrated
and then powdered to use as a veggie
enhancer in meat or stews.
Our Bay Laurel bush has given us
quite a bit of bay leaves too.

The CEO is currently working on
the raised beds for Broccoli,
Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts.
He has a spot for beets, potatoes
and carrots too.

It's nice to be able to eat what you grow!
😊

Is it me, or have many people
died recently?
these are a few since September 14Th:
Bob Mackie - fashion designer
Peter Max - the psychedelic artist
Mike Ditka - NFL player and Saints coach
Walter Koenig - Star Trek actor, Chehov
Sir Patrick Stewart - actor Star Trek and many others
Tom Skerrit - actor Top Gun, Steel Magnolias
Eva Marie Saint - actress North By Northwest
I realize that they were older, but
it also seems that they are going
so quickly.
We'll miss them all,
and are thankful for having
seen their work.
🙏

Be thankful and grateful for this day!

P.S. Sorry for the short post,
hopefully soon we'll have
more veggies to show!
