June 8th

Today's Friday.
Its National "Name Your Poison" day.
I really don't drink so, I guess, to me, it'll mean making choices.
In my life, I've made some questionable ones and then some fabulous ones.
Either way, you live with the results.
I choose to embrace them, good and bad.

It's also National Upsy Daisy Day.
Its a day to encourage people to rise each morning with a
positive attitude and face life's challenges with a smile.
Seems to me both of these National days are essentially the same.
I do try to have a positive attitude,
till someone pisses me off!
Just sayin'
😜

What's up with this?
And who exactly is
Rosemary???

Sometimes I wonder about things......
Like:
1)Why do they call it a "Fun Run"? Seems like an oxymoron.
They, in my opinion, are diametrically opposed activities!
2)Why do the ASPCA commercials use Sarah McLachlan's
song? Jesus! I can't even see the TV because of the tears!
Seriously, the arms of an angel? You'd have to have ice water in your veins
to not be affected by this.
3)Why are the seeds in an avocado so blasted big?
They grow on trees the same as an apple, but apple seeds are so small.
I don't get it.
4)Why are some people (like me) so afraid of heights?
I know that there are many phobias in our species, but the fear
of heights is so pedestrian. There's no way I'd skydive, I'd lose sphincter control!
5) Why are there snakes? No further explanation needed.
6) Never take design ideas from the Rolling Stones because they'll see
a red door and want to paint it black!
7) Who put the Bop in the bop de bop de bop?
And why do we care?
I just wonder about things.............

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was hot outside again today.
That doesn't bode well for August.
Reminds me.....
Back in the '60's, on the Twilight Zone,
there was an episode titled
"The Midnight Sun"
It was about a woman who has a high fever
and in her delirium,
dreams the earth is getting closer to the sun,
when in reality it's getting
farther away and colder, but
she thinks the Earth will burn up.
Feels like that here sometimes!
=====================================

The dahlias look beautiful.

as you can see,
 on the same plant,
the flowers come out differently.
Some are variegated with purple and white,
and some are solid purple.

This was quite the surprise.
Another of our chrysanthemums
bloomed.
They may just have 2 blooming seasons this year.
Spring and Fall.
Hope so.

We saw this at the feed store.
You never know when the
burning need to walk your chicken will arise.
And the leashes come in gender appropriate colors!
Well, after all, it's how they
get to the other
side, right?

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
The cherry tomatoes are really ripening fast.
I've started dehydrating some of them.
That process brings out a sweetness
that isn't there in the ripe ones.
I harvested some herbs and onions too.
All of it will be in my herb blend.

I made a salad for lunch today.
Almost all of it was from our garden.
I used kale, lettuce and cherry tomatoes
with a few almonds and pecans
drizzled with balsamic vinegar dressing.
It was very good!.

The sun went down, and
the girls are in the coop for the night.
Well, everybody but Hazel.
She's the only one that sleeps outside of the roosting boxes.
At first I thought she was being shunned
by the others, but now I realize
it's her preference.
  She's a tad "different",
but we love her just the same.
She's our blue egger.

Remember,
in the immortal words of the Beatles,
Ob La Di,
Ob La Da,
Life goes on brah.

Deep thoughts........
